Khabib "The Eagle" Nurmagomedov - Best Matches

An extraordinary MMA fighter like never seen before

Khabib Abdulmanapovich Nurmagomedov. It is no secret that this man is an absolute beast when it comes to mixed martial arts. The 32 year old former Russian artist retired on October 2020. It was a rough year for Nurmagomedav as he lost his beloved father due to the global spread virus covid-10. On 24th Oct, Saturday night Khabib announced his retirement after defeating Justin Gaethje by a triangle choke in the 2nd round of the match. Let's take a look at some of his finest performances in the octagon.

1. Khabib Nurmagomedov VS Michael Johnson

Held on November 12, 2016 at The Madison Square Garden, New York, United States. The match lasted for 3 rounds. Nurmagomedov took the victory by locking up Johnson in a merciful kimura, forcing a tap at 2:31 of Round 3. Kimaru is names after Masahiko Kimura. It is a double joint arm lock used in many MMA forms. If Johnson would have not tapped out Khabib could have broken his arm as kimura is one of the most savage submission moves in MMA.

3.  Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Dustin Poirier

Poirier is a tough competition, there's a reason his nickname is "The Diamond". it's not easy to break this guy. In this match Poirier can be seen putting up a fight with Nurmagomedov like no one else. It wasn't until the 3rd round that Khabib was able to make Dustin tap out by a read naked choke. The match was organized on 7th of September 2019 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

4. Khabib Numagomedov vs Conor Mcgregor

When it comes to Conor "The Notorious" Mcgrogor, trust me he's a real deal. His records (22-5) may not match up to Nurmagomedov but once you  see his performance in the octagon you will know what the hype about Conor is all about. However when you are going up against "The Eagle" himself it seems like no one is enough which is exactly what is seen in a match held up between these two on October 6th of 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA for the UFC Lightweight Title. Almost the entirety of the 1st and 2nd round Khabib had Conor stuck in a leg lock while dumping a series of jabs, uppercuts, elbow hits on Mcregor. Even after those deadly punches Conor was surprisingly hanging in there showing his incredible strength and survivability. It was the 4th round when Khabib got an amazing rear grip on Conor and after a couple of jabs finally got that neck crank choke on him, Conor had no choice but to tap out.

We can say without a doubt that Khabib has had an astonishing career in the UFC world. Although some might not like the fact that Khabib retired early but we should respect his decision and continue supporting him on whatever he does next.
